The 2025 award, and what it recognises

Silverland Yen won three titles at the 2025 World Luxury Hotel Awards:

• Luxury Rooftop View Hotel in South East Asia. A regional category, judged across South East Asia, and the title that belongs to this rooftop.
• Luxury Small Hotel, Vietnam. A national title for a hotel of 63 rooms.
• Luxury Destination Hotel in Vietnam.

The rooftop title is a view award. It recognises the setting and the outlook over downtown Saigon rather than the cocktail list, so the view is the reason to come.

The hotel also holds two guest-review recognitions for 2026: a Booking.com Traveller Review Award 2026 with a score of 9.0/10, which is the score attached to that award rather than a live rating, and Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice 2026, which places it among the top 10% of hotels worldwide.

What this rooftop bar in District 1 looks like

The hotel describes Yen Rooftop Bar as a hidden garden retreat, and the photographs bear that out: planted walls, trees growing up through the timber deck, warm low lighting after dark and a long pool running beside the seating. Beyond the edge of the deck is downtown Saigon, with older low-rise rooftops in front and the towers of the newer city behind them.

Live music at Silverland Yen

Silverland Yen hosts live music on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The schedule can move around public holidays and private events, so if the music is the reason for your visit, call reception on (+84) 28 3823 6789 on the day to confirm the time.

When to go for sunset

Ho Chi Minh City sits about 10.8° north of the equator, so sunset moves by less than an hour across the whole year: from around 17:25 in November to around 18:20 in July. From October to December it falls at roughly 17:25 to 17:45. Twilight is short, about 20 to 25 minutes, so the colour goes quickly.

• Arrive 30 to 40 minutes before sunset to get a seat facing the city while it is still light.
• Stay for the first hour of dark. The deck and the planted walls are lit once the sun has gone, which is when most of the photographs on this page were taken.
• Or go by day. The bar opens at 10:00, so it also works as a mid-morning or afternoon stop while you are walking the area.

The rainy season runs roughly from May to November. Showers tend to come in the afternoon or early evening and are often short, so check the sky before you set out.

What else is on the rooftop

The rooftop is shared with the hotel’s own facilities. According to the hotel fact sheet, these are:

• Rooftop pool, 07:00 to 21:30. It is a pool guests can swim in, set along the edge of the deck.
• Sauna, 07:00 to 21:30.
• Gym, 06:00 to 22:00.

The bar is on the rooftop floor of Silverland Yen at 73-75 Thu Khoa Huan Street, Ben Thanh Ward, at the Nguyen Du end of the street. Go in through the hotel lobby and take the lift to the rooftop.

• From Ben Thanh Market: under 350 m from the market’s north side on Le Thanh Ton, about four minutes on foot.
